I loathed history in high school, but now I love learning the history of places and things. I did portraits for ONE15 today before they started recording in a studio on the University of Denver Colorado’s campus. Once inside the studio, I learned the history of the sound board, a Neve 8016 Mixing Desk. It was donated to the university by Caribou Ranch founder, James Guercio, and is truly a part of classic rock history!
This thing has seen and mixed the likes of The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Carole King, U2, Stevie Nicks, and many more. I can’t describe the feeling of being in the presence of something like that, and I don’t expect any of you reading this to comprehend it. It’s pretty impressive to me!
For my listening pleasure while typing this post and processing the rest of the photos from today: Caribou Ranch Radio! Appropriately! 😀
